Previous Achievements
- In 2016 Tankerton F.C. Youth Council featured on the large screens at Wembley Stadium during F.A. Cup weekend, promoting safeguarding and child safety in sport. Footage of the film was also used throughout England in F.A. education workshops as an example of good practice at grassroots.
Tankerton F.C. Youth Council has also:
- Tackled the issue of players complaining about smelly bibs by asking managers to wash them regularly.
- Received a grant from the O2 Think Big team.
- Set up a club newsletter which is led by the Youth Council and is published four times a year. The newsletter has helped spread news about the Club and has helped to raise its profile in the community. This has led to a number of teams engaging new players.
- Helped purchase a gazebo that can be used for a variety of events.
- Become involved in anti-bullying in football with the Kent County F.A.’s campaign.
- Secured a donation of £500 for the Club from Chestfield Rotary Club. This involved Youth Council members going to the Rotary Club to make a presentation of what they would do with the money if they were to be given a donation. This money has been spent on new equipment chosen by the Youth Council.
