Fundraising for the Club
Our team of volunteer managers and parents have seen the club involved in a host of fundraising activities locally, across the district, across Kent and even right across London. Quiz Nights, Fun-day, Phil the bag, a stall at the Regatta were just the start! We had Children undertaking sponsored mini tri-athalons, coaches and parents dragon boat racing on the Medway, a former Chairman and Treasurer ran a half marathon around Brands Hatch, 11 Coaches did a sponsored cycle ride around the London Premiership grounds, we had a golf day with our sponsors and friends at Boughton Golf club, and to cap it all we had a Gala night and Auction with Comedian and football lover Frank Skinner. We think this is a pretty impressive 18 months' worth of fund raising activities for a club run solely by unpaid volunteers

Charitable Aims As part of our social and community programme and another reason for changing our constitution is that we wanted to be known as a club that not only ran itself on a not for profit basis but also one that helped raise money for causes that the children could relate to both nationally and locally. To this effect over the past few years we have raised thousands of pounds directly for charities such as Children in Need, NSPCC, SportsAid, Demelza House, and helped in other ways by donating old kit for the Kits for Africa appeal, giving tickets for the Community Shield to Demelza House to enable less fortunate children to benefit and by raising a sponsored coaches team to play in a tournament for Kent Air Ambulance. |
