1st Team off to a Winning Start

New 1st Team Head Coach Simon Allen took charge for his first game for Tankerton FC 1st Team vs Whitstable Town FC Academy at Seaview. With a match day squad of 23 players there were plenty of personnel changes throughout the game and, following a tough first half, TFC went in 1-0 up at the break thanks to a goal from debutant James Thorne.

After a host of half-time substitutions TFC settled into the game, held the shape well and continued to control the football. Within 20 minutes we were 2-0 up thanks to a sharp finish from centre back Tom Newing. Whitstable briefly came back into the game with a close-range goal, but TFC continued to assert their pressure through to the end. Numerous chances, a missed TFC penalty and a late turn and finish from Ty Holder left the team as comfortable 3-1 winners.

We now look forward to the start of Pre-Season Training on Wednesday 12th July at 7pm at Seaview.
