Tankerton Girls U15s
This was the U15s' first season in the top division. Nearly every game this season has been so close and this is reflected in the final league table where you can see the number of drawn matches this season. In fact, we matched the top two teams in the league in our league games and deserved more than just the one draw. It really shows the potential of this team. Even with our other games we could have got more out of these. Our run at the end of the season was incredible and shows we can really compete with the best teams in Kent.
The highlight of the season was our Tina Marshall Cup win. Parents, players and coaches alike were over the moon with the result. The tension and excitement was easily on a par with any of the European football drama! Further congratulations to the U15s for winning two tournaments (Thanet Colts and Herne Bay) in the last 10 months. This team keeps getting better and better.
Tankerton Girls U14s
What a season for the U14s; to finish runners-up in such a competitive league is an incredible achievement and the players and coaches should be so proud of their efforts. The potential of this team is limitless due to the special bond the players have with each other. They have so much talent in this team, with many different characters; they are so determined, hardworking and have a willingness to listen to the coach. I have no doubts they can achieve big things next season.
Tankerton Girls U12s
The girls have had a really good season. The first year, following the merger of the East Kent and West Kent Leagues, was always going to be a challenge, with teams establishing their position in the divisions. Also, it is hard for parents and coaches to get used to all of those lovely journeys to the other side of Kent for the love of the game. This is one of the reasons it’s so great that the U12s have such a big squad. Another reason for the team's success is the special relationship between the players and their amazing coaches at Tankerton. This team is going from strength to strength. This can be seen in the last part of the season and the first tournament in the summer, at Herne Bay, where they reached the final.
Tankerton Women’s team
I could not be more proud of the women’s team and in particular the development of the players has been incredible. Plus, you could not meet such a nice bunch of players who love to play football every Wednesday at Seaview. The team is entering more and more tournaments and have recently entered the Futsal League.
Tankerton Wildcats
The women’s game is growing and growing, and if you need any further evidence of this come and join us at Seaview! You will have the chance to see the joy and happiness of the girls playing football which makes volunteering so worthwhile.
We train all summer, every Wednesday at Seaview, and new players are welcome:
- Tankerton Wildcats for girls aged 5 to 11 years old, 5pm to 6pm
- Tankerton Girls' training 11 to 16 years old, 6pm to 7.30pm
