The Tankerton F.C. Youth Council was created in 2012 and was set up by our Chair of Trustees, Tim Elgar and ex-Head of Kent F.A. Youth Council, Luke Baker who has also sat on the National Game Youth Council. Tankerton Youth Council originally consisted of 6 members but has continued to grow since then into a larger group of 15 members who represent 10 different teams within the Club. It is now run by Tankerton F.C. Assistant Welfare Officer, Tracey Parsons who is the parent of a player in one of our girls’ teams.
“A Voice for the Players, the Future of Our Club”. That is the Youth Council’s motto, as it really is a chance for the players to have an input and to make decisions and change things for the better within the Club. The idea is for the players to feed back observations, ideas and improvements from a player’s perspective to the Club’s Executive Committee – ideas and improvements that they would like to see.
The Youth Council also produces the Club’s newsletter, published four times a year. Tankerton F.C. has one of only a few youth councils at grassroots level in the country, let alone the county, and is pioneering in many ways.
